Festival fashion: What clothes will be rocking this summer?

Live music is back and festival fans will be raring to go, so what’s hot for this year’s festivals?

Festival fashion is a niche all on its own and, while individuality rules, at many of these events there is certainly a festival ‘look’.

It’s safe to say that after so many months behind closed doors those lucky enough to have bagged a ticket to one of the summer’s remaining festivals will be going all out.

Tie-dye summer clothes

Does anything say festival fun more than tie-dye? A long overdue return for the look that will forever be synonymous with the Summer of Love and the original hippy movement, means channelling your inner hippy is in vogue. Denim cut-offs

Denim is pretty much a rock uniform so any combo of denim will be rocking a festival vibe, especially as double denim is tipped to make a comeback. Chunky sandals to walk in style

Neon brights to stand out in a crowd

Bold brash colours have been making a creeping comeback for a couple of years so among the festival staples of khaki, denim and floral dresses expect to see some seriously bright outfits. Neon tops, dresses and accessories are the way to go.

Boots for all occasions

The one thing you will nearly always need at a British festival is boots. Unpredictable rain or forecast downpours, it is a rare summer where you get through a festival seeing only sunshine. If the forecast is dire, you’ll want to invest in decent wellies, but if it’s a so-so outlook dress up your outfit with Doc Martens or similar chunky boots to look good – and keep your grip and your feet dry!
